Action for Ecology and People Emancipation (AEER) is an environmental defender organization that works to save communities from environmental and ecology crises through energy and transportation shifting to low carbon, and supporting the financial system towards a sustainable economy, ensuring Indonesia’s emissions reduction by 446 million tons of CO2 in the energy sector by 2030. We focus on impactful research, policy development, and advocacy in environmental and urban issues.

 

Job Description:

As a Program Manager at AEER, you will lead the design and delivery of high-impact programs aligned with AEER’s mission. Your primary focus will be on managing program implementation, ensuring cross-team coordination, and fostering external partnerships. Working closely with the Coordinator on strategic alignment and the PMEL Manager on program evaluation, you will ensure that AEER’s initiatives are impactful, and sustainable.

This role emphasizes program execution, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence, allowing you to drive meaningful change in Indonesia’s environmental and energy landscape.

Key Responsibilites:

  1. Oversee the execution of AEER programs, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and strategic goals set by the Coordinator.
  2. Act as the operational bridge between program teams and the PMEL Manager, facilitating seamless integration of planning, monitoring, and evaluation processes into program delivery.
  3. Build and maintain partnerships with AEER’s stakeholder  to amplify program reach and impact.
  4. Lead program team coordination, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and resource allocations are met effectively.
  5. Contribute to fundraising efforts by drafting program proposals and collaborating with the Coordinator.
  6. Monitor program performance, identifying operational challenges and proposing solutions to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
  7. Represent AEER at key events, workshops, and conferences to share insights and build organizational visibility.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience (5+ years) in program or project management, preferably in sustainability, environmental advocacy, or community development.
  2. Strong understanding of Indonesia’s climate, energy, and sustainability policies.
  3. Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex projects.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with a range of stakeholders effectively.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with the Coordinator on strategic objectives and with the PMEL Manager to incorporate learning and evaluation into programs.
  6. Proficiency with project management tools to track tasks, manage timelines, and enhance collaboration.
  7. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Studies, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
  8. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to driving AEER’s mission forward.
